"We, the Wellness Coordinators at Lockheed Martin Wellness Center, purchased a Futrex 6100 body composition analyzer last year and it has been one of the most valuable investments we have made. The Futrex has been an invaluable resource for us since its arrival, making assessments in the Wellness Center much easier and facilitating greater number of participants during our screenings and health fairs. We and those being assessed have been very pleased in every usage situation.
Before we invested in this unit, we conducted extensive research to ensure the validity of the unit. We were confident that the Futrex 6100 would eliminate inter-tester variability, but wanted to ensure that each reading would be valid. After a personal demonstration, and more importantly, after thorough evaluation of the research conducted by various universities and institutions, we were confident that the near-infrared analysis of this machine would give readings on par with the "gold standard" hydrostatic body composition testing.
Besides the body composition evaluations (as part of regular fitness assessments) our Futrex 6100 has seen in our Wellness Center, it was used to screen over 500 individuals during our annual Wellness Fair. In all situations, it performed flawlessly. The employees were particularly pleased with the ease of examination (no disrobing required) and quick results. We were delighted because we could screen such a large number of employees and because no special arrangements (curtain, private rooms, etc.) were needed for the analysis.
The Futrex itself is a very convenient device and the basic body composition analysis function would make it a worthwhile investment, yet it has many other great features. The optional printer and included Physical Assessment Rating Reports are excellent options that we will make great use of. Also, the unit comes with software that facilitates an easy interface with a computer to track results and populations - another highly valuable feature for most any corporate wellness, health care, or fitness facility.
Futrex has been a pleasure to work with. They have always comprehensively answered all our queries and are prompt in delivery of any products we need. Once again, the Futrex has been a great boon to our Wellness program will soon recoup its cost. "I am a certified personal trainer and I train my clientele at the YMCA in Queens, New York. As a newly-built fitness complex, our building and programs attracted a wide variety of members in our multi-cultural community; after our first year, our member retention rate started to decrease. as fitness professional, I took it upon myself to try to bring people back to the gym to work out; I treid to improve the amenities thatwe offered to the members. A problem that I consistently had at the time was the way that I could calculate bodyfat percentages. Certain rules applied whenever using skinfold calipers: an individual could not work out beforehand; three or four "pinching" sites had to be exposed to be measured; and the measurements had to be done by the same trainer to ensure accuracy. Using the skinfold calipers, I was able to measure bodyfat percentages, but not accurately; I was as accurate as bodyfat charts allowed me to be (about +/- 7%), and I could not explain fully how to decrease the percentage if the reading was too high. At this point, I looked elsewher for a solution: a new machine.
I went to a fitness industry fair and received many brochures; one of them was a magazine subscription which conained a the advertisement for the Futrex-5000. After I called to see how much it would be to own the Analyzer, I purchased it. The results were overwhelming; on the very first day, fifty people came to me to have their bodyfat percentage taken accurately. When the first person came and saw what was given out in terms of clear, concise information on what fat was, body-water content, caloric intake and basal metabolic rate, as well as other explanations on reducing the bodyfat percentage, it led to a stampede of members (as well as staff personnel) wanting to know what the skinfold calipers could not tell. All of my clientele were amazed at the ease and the time it took to actually get a reading; they also did not have to disrobe in front of me to obtain the reading. Members are returning to the gym just to get a reading and to try to get themselves into better shape. I was fortunate to obtain this machine just before the Christnas/New Year's holidays because people that have been tested have used their results to focus on obtaining their fitness goals fr next year. I have also tied the machine in with promotional fitness events; usually the bodyfat percentage is taken before a contest abd afterward to signify a change in the body. Overall, the Analyzer continues to prove itself as the best commodity and investment made toward total fitness.
The Futrex Analyzer is easily the best machine on the market. It has made my job a lot easier and more informative with its readings. I look forward to using more of your products in the near future."

"Can I get my body fat percentage checked?" is a popular question at our worksite. Our employees here at LCA Body Plant (General Motors) want to know their percentage of body fat. This is a more important indiactor of health than just how much a person weighs.
The ease and convenience of the Futrex-6100 near-infrared technology has me sold. It is quick, non-invasive, accurate, and gives the client immediate reults with printed information to take with them to review. Due to the results many people have set goals to reduce their body fat percentage.
At one clinic, 62 people were checked in 3 hours! I am very pleased with the amount of interest and participation. Any time I get the Futrex-6100 out it draws a crowd. In fact, it's so popular I saw a need to acquire another 6100!
I also purchased the PAR (Physical Analysis Rating) Package and used it to do Fit Checks for employees before they get involved in any aerobics classes offered. It takes about 15 minutes and if the values are out of range, I recommend that they see their doctor.
I now use the Futrex-6100 as a station (actually 2) at my cholesterol screenings. In February I screened 401 employees for cholesterol in 2 days. Of those 401, 278 opted to have their body fat percentage analyzed. Most people never have had this opportunity and were intrigued by it.
Due to the interest and reliability the Futrex-6100 generates, I would recommend this body fat percentage analyzer to anyone who monitors body fat percentage."
