Advantages
of using the Futrex System
Measurements
can be made on either the biceps or the triceps of the arm. The advantages of
the Futrex near-infrared body composition analyzers are:
Provide accurate measurements for both male and female of any levels of fitness
- - - from very lean world class gymnast to the highest fat, obese population.
Unlike
calipers, the Futrex system provides accurate measurement of body builders because
the near-infrared measurement includes both the intramuscular as well as the sub-cutaneous
body fat.
There are no pretesting protocol limitations. This is unlike bioelectrical impedance
where accurate measurements cannot be performed if alcohol had been consumed anytime
during the previous 24 hours, if a meal has been eaten within three hours of the
measurement time, if strenuous exercise had occurred within three hours of measurement
time, if the body is unusually dehydrated or ultrahydrated, if skin lotions or
other cosmetic materials that provide an electrical conduction path had been applied
to the body, etc.
In
the Futrex system, no electrical energy is entered into the body. Thus, unlike
bioelectrical impedance, there is no risk to implanted defillibrators, heart pacers,
or early-term fetuses.
